Form- Talking Heads

Talking heads is something adverts use in order to get the viewers to relate to the product that they are advertising and the reason they can relate is because they use normal everyday people, people that are just like the consumers and are in the same situations as them. If the results at the end of the advert are good then it will convince the audience to buy it as it makes it more believable, so they will think that whatever happens in it will be true.


This can be potrayed by either a group of people having a conversation together or by someone going round picking normal everday people and asking them questions and even though it will all be set up as it's an advert and that what they have to do, because of the way it has been put together and the people used it will come across to the viewers as more believable and real as they have used people that are just like them so they will think that it is the same for them so due to this it makes them ignore the fact it has been set up and isnt real and believe it. Because they use people that are exactly like their target audience.


An Asda advert have used a talking advert, it shows a group of friends going into asda and doing the price guarantee they then go home and discuss the results of thier shop and check it showing that it is right. The advert was aimed at mums and there for has mums in the advert, this is because in a house hold it is generally the mums that do all the shopping.




In the advert the women are all talking about the price comparisons that asda promise and they were making sure that what they have said is right and does work, so Asda have done this to proove that it is correct and actually does work and because the people are real and it is set up to be real there for looking real, Asda's target audience which in this one happens to be middle aged women this is due to the fact that it is usually women that age who have thier families and do the shopping as usually it is the women that do the shopping. They have chosen these people and this situation so that they can target thier audience and attract them and also proove that the things they promise are true.
