Advertising Techniques 1

Advertising techniques are tools that are used to attract attention, engage the audience's minds, trigger emotions and change what people think.

One Advertising techniques is Celebrity Endorsment, this is where the manufacturers choose a popular celebrity that will attract their target audience, so someone that, that audience range likes and is a role model so that it will convince them to buy the product. So having a celebrity in the advert helps to promote the company, product and also the celebrity themselves.

An example of a company that uses celebrity endorsment to promote their product is Loreal.




The celebrity used in this advert is Cheryl Cole she is a role model for young girls, which is the target audience for Loreal, what is being advertised. Beauty appeal is also used in this advert as Cheryl Cole is someone that the target audience can aspire to, should they use the product. This is all part of the persuasive techniques of celebrity endorsment and beauty appeal. Cheryl cole's background is from a working class family and it is that audience that they are trying to persuade to buy that product there for i believe that it is a verry succesful advert due to these chosen techniques.
